One Academic Year in the USA
The "One Academic Year in America" program was created by the U.S. government as an exchange program for high school students. The program gives students from all over the world the opportunity to study at a public or private school in the USA that meets their interests and needs. The aim of the program is to bring American culture closer to other cultures. Students participating in these programs become witnesses of American culture in their own right and have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the daily lives of their American peers. The program allows applicants to choose the town or city, as well as the school itself or the region. Classes are held in small groups, where additional extracurricular skills are developed
Why take part?
At a young teenage age, you will have the chance to visit another continent, choose for yourself where you want to study, develop your English far beyond the level of your classmates, meet many friends from different countries and, most importantly, experience American culture and everyday life from the inside. You will have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma (upon meeting the requirements set by the respective state). For 10 months you will have the opportunity to attend an American high school and live with a host family – people who are specially selected and will take care of you during the time you spend there.
