The University of Warwick is a public research university with 50 research centers and institutes. It was founded in 1965 and was one of the first universities in the UK to take a business approach to higher education, building and maintaining partnerships with the country's business community and commercially exploiting its research. Research Excellence Framework 2014 ranked it 7th for its research, making it one of the world leaders in the field. 87% of Warwick's research is considered “world-leading” and “internationally excellent” according to the Research Excellence Framework 2014. Virgin Media Business named it the most digitally advanced university in the UK, and Tony Blair called it a beacon among British universities for its dynamism, quality and entrepreneurial spirit. The university maintains business relationships with world leaders such as Jaguar, Land Rover and Tata, to name just a few. It also maintains partnerships with a number of local businesses. Some majors offer the opportunity for an internship or Erasmus abroad. The University of Warwick has always been in the top 10 of British universities, currently ranking 7th, and 48th in the QS World University Rankings 2015/2016. It ranks first for drama and film, and other subjects in the top 10 include finance, business management, chemistry, ancient history, computer science and others (for a full list of majors, ask our consultants). The university is home to about 25,000 students.
Coventry is located in central England and has a long and rich history dating back to the Bronze Age, when the city was a simple settlement. It was the capital of England more than once in the 15th century, when the seat of government was located here. Coventry's cultural and historical heritage includes the Roman fort at Baginton, Lady Godiva, three cathedrals and St Mary's Guildhall, which kings and queens visited for entertainment. The city's motor companies contributed to its successful development as well as to the development of industry throughout the country. The Phoenix Initiative was a multimillion-pound project aimed at regenerating parts of the city by building squares, gardens, cafes, bars and shops.
