The University of South Wales

The University of South Wales was established in April 2013 through the merger of the University of Wales, Newport and the University of Glamorgan. It is one of the most exciting new universities in the UK. It is ranked 102nd in the United Kingdom. Through its research, the university helps shape important decisions. It advises government, industry and employers across the UK in a variety of areas such as healthcare, education, economic growth, social policy and governance. The University of South Wales is considered one of the main research universities in Wales in areas such as renewable energy, educational development, healthcare, the creative industries and arts, mobile communications, the humanities, sports injury and performance, new businesses, technology innovation and start-up companies. The university has partnerships with a number of major employers, from British Airways to the National Health Service. It is one of the leading universities focused on its students' career development, with 93% of all graduates in work or further study within 6 months of graduating. The university is one of the leaders in the arts, with a world-renowned film school, an animation studio, broadcasting, one of the oldest photography schools in Britain, an excellent reputation in stage design, and world-renowned poets, screenwriters and authors. The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama is part of the university.

Cardiff is the capital and largest city of Wales. National Geographic ranks it 6th among the most desirable tourist destinations. This is no accident, because Cardiff has it all - a long and rich history, cultural landmarks and a lively commercial center. On one side it is bordered by the wild, majestic sea, and on the other by the beautiful, remarkable countryside. Recently, the city has undergone major regeneration, developing its harbor and restoring many buildings. This makes Cardiff one of Europe's modern, forward-looking cities that keep pace with the times. Compared with many other capitals, the cost of living in Cardiff is considerably lower.
