After an incredible summer in Massachusetts on the Work and Travel program, my friends and I decided to take a short trip. Our first destination was Las Vegas. We flew there, and the surprises began as soon as we landed. When we arrived at the airport, the first sight we saw was extraordinary. The airport was full of gaming areas and lit up by the colorful lights of the slot machines.
When we stepped outside the airport, I felt a true desert climate for the first time. It was evening, yet I felt as if it were a warm day at the beach. I was immediately impressed by the tall palm trees towering high above the airport building.
We were tired, but after checking in to the hotel we decided to take a walk around the city we had heard so much about. Well, it turned out to be just like in the movies. The whole city was lit up, full of casinos and extravagant characters. There were people from all over the world, and many young people who had come only to have fun. After a long walk we went back to rest up for the next day.
Our second day in Las Vegas was quite interesting. We met lots of people of all nationalities with different interests. We climbed palm trees and toured all the casinos and hotels, which looked like palaces. In one of the hotels, a man in a suit stopped us and handed us vouchers for free drinks at the top hotel in front of which the famous singing fountains are located. After the incredible day we spent wandering the streets of Las Vegas, we went back to the hotel and got ready for the evening.
The evening was long and exciting. Thanks to the vouchers we had received earlier, we had priority and entered through the venue's VIP area. We had a few cocktails, danced and didn't think about anything – we just enjoyed the moment. The view from the venue was indescribable. From the windows you could see the singing fountains, and right behind them all the glittering hotels, including the Eiffel Tower. We had an unforgettable night!
The third day was shorter, since we had to get ready to leave. Even so, we took one last long walk and even went up a very tall tower. From it you could see the whole city, and at the top there were rides. We got on the carousel and the feeling was indescribable! I admit it was a challenge, but I felt like I was flying – and not just anywhere, but over Las Vegas!
Toward evening we had to get organized and leave Las Vegas. We took our last photos and set off. I left with incredible emotions, feeling that I would soon visit this extraordinary entertainment city again. I will never forget the atmosphere, the setting and the experiences in Las Vegas for the rest of my life!
