For my first year on a student summer job in the USA, I chose a destination recommended to me by a friend. First year – young, timid – of course I'd go to a recommended place for WAT! I really wanted to be on an island in Massachusetts, but as it happened, I didn't leave with an offer for that place, but for an amusement park on the Cape. At the park – fun, kids, laughter. Still good for me! Even so, I think I'm a pretty persistent person, so I talked with my sponsors and my employer and moved to the place I wanted so much – the island of Martha’s Vineyard. After all, that's where I was aiming from the very beginning! There I met many people, both from Bulgaria and from other countries. My job was at a private golf club. Who's like me, huh? Who would have thought I'd start working for wealthy Americans. Me – young, timid, coming from the amusement park?
After we finished work, I decided to travel a bit with my friends. For a week I immersed myself in the lights of "The City That Never Sleeps". New York is an incredible place that brings incredible emotions and energy!
I recommend it to everyone. This year I'm going on Work and Travel again and will travel even more. The experience is definitely worth it.
That was my first, but not my last, student summer job. I can't wait for my new adventure!
Work and Travel 2019, I can't wait!
