If you took part in this year's "Work and Travel" program, we invite you to share your experiences through a video on the theme "Live Your Dream" and enter the U.S. Embassy contest.
The rules are as follows:
If you have already completed your "Work and Travel" summer, you need to submit an application between October 1 and October 31, 2017. It must include your full name and date of birth, a contact phone number, your university (where you study), and where you worked in the United States (city and state).
You must include a short story of your own explaining the video and its content.
Participants may submit only one video project, limited to 2 minutes. All materials must be your own original work to which you hold the rights. Submitting a video you did not create will result in automatic removal from the contest and disqualification from future contests sponsored by the U.S. Embassy. If you include music in your video, you must hold the rights to that music. When you're ready to upload the video, upload your project to a cloud service provider of your choice (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc.). Once you're ready, generate a shareable link and send it to SWTcontest2017@state.gov .
The Embassy reserves the right to make the final selection of all finalists. The winners will be those who submit a video that combines creative elements and aesthetic quality. The Embassy's decision will be final and not subject to appeal. Any inappropriate content will be removed from the contest, and the applicant will not be able to take part in this or future contests sponsored by the U.S. Embassy.
We advise you to follow the contest requirements.
The winners of the contest will be announced on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and the U.S. Embassy website.
If you have no previous experience in making videos, the U.S. Embassy has provided a sample video that will give you an idea of the footage and music you should use, as well as where to look for help with editing and much more!
