Hampton Beach, New Hampshire - a sought-after destination for summer work programs
Here's a short story, sent to us by email, about the start of one summer:
'Hampton Beach is quite changeable - one day it's 30 degrees and sunny, another day (like today) it's 15 and raining. I hope that as the season approaches, it will lean more toward the first option. Otherwise I'm fine and happy with my stay so far. My roommate turned out to be a guy from Plovdiv named Stoyko, who signed up through your branch there, and we get along perfectly. Other Bulgarians have started arriving too, and we've already met up with some of them. I'm also happy with my employer - Manish is a decent guy and at times pretty funny, especially when a customer gets on his nerves :D. I'm glad he takes us shopping in his minibus almost every week. When he can't, he sends his brother Shakti or Asparuh, who runs the Coffee Shop, to take us. He also tries to give me hours, even though there isn't much work at the hotel yet. Last week I worked 50 hours, this week 47. I hope he'll increase them even more as summer approaches, since he said I won't need a second job. For now, in the afternoon or evening I'm usually at the front desk, and in the morning I help with housekeeping when there are more guests. In my free time I usually ride my bike or go for walks with some of the others. I haven't been to the beach yet, but I plan to start once the weather gets better. I'm attaching a few photos from my walks so far, I hope you like them. Regards, Nikola' Work and Travel USA 2016
