In first place, according to the rankings, is Denver, Colorado. There, fall arrives as early as the beginning of September. It is one of the most beautiful cities in America, not only in the fall but in the other three seasons too. The fall colors are rich, and visitors to Denver enjoy stunning views. Denver is the capital of the State of Colorado and one of the most affordable cities to live in. Colorado's capital is an important commercial center with a good, stable economy. The city has a vibrant cultural life, with many museums, galleries and performing arts centers. Interestingly, in 1976 it was chosen to host the Winter Olympic Games but declined. So Denver went down in history as the only city to have turned down hosting the Winter Olympics.

Second place goes to Alaska, with its vast forests and mountains. The view here is astonishing. You won't believe your eyes. In the fall, the scenery looks like it was painted by an artist. Alaska is the least populated state in North America. About 600,000 people live there. The local population includes Americans, Native Americans, Aleuts and Eskimos. Almost a third of Alaska's territory lies within the Arctic Circle, and the lowest temperature ever recorded is -63 degrees. Seventeen of the 20 highest peaks in America are in Alaska, but not all of them are accessible to climbers. The name Alaska comes from the Eskimo word Alakshak, which means "great land" or "mainland." Alaska's capital, Juneau, cannot be reached by car and is accessible only by boat or plane.

New York, of course, comes next, with Central Park covered in yellow, red and orange leaves in the fall. The beauty of autumn in nature, in the heart of one of the busiest cities. New York is one of the most impressive cities in the world, even though the city itself can't boast an ancient history. Its population, unique in size and diversity, makes it one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, combining languages and customs from all over the globe. Over 800 languages are spoken here. If you get the chance, you should visit New York and feel the energy of this city.

Salt Lake City is also not to be missed. Fall there quickly turns into winter, but precisely because of this, the autumn scenery bursts out all at once and the view is definitely worth it. Salt Lake City is the capital of the State of Utah. The city has many botanical gardens, as well as a zoo, theaters, galleries, restaurants, wineries and golf courses. There's a great variety of activities to enjoy in the "City of the Salt Lake." It sits at the foot of high mountains, which makes the views around it truly unique.
