Hello, future summer program participants!
My American dream started coming true when I signed up for the Work and Travel program in 2015. I've always loved traveling, and touring America was my biggest goal.
The place I chose for my summer adventure was Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. A small town with lots of resorts and amusement parks, perfect for seasonal work.
I worked at two places – as a Kitchen Helper at one of the biggest resorts in town and as a Busser at a small Italian restaurant. Every day at work was full of different emotions, because working with people from all over the world, so different from you, is real fun. Besides travel, one of the most valuable things a summer work program gives you is lifelong friendships.
The summer flew by in work and fun, and then came the most anticipated moment – the trip.
My biggest dream was New York, and naturally it impressed me the most. We organized the following trip – New York, Niagara Falls, Washington, Philadelphia. During our stay in Wisconsin Dells we also took time to visit Chicago, since it was nearby.
The feeling of visiting places you've only seen in movies and making your dreams come true is incredible! That's when you realize how much the Work and Travel program has given you, which is why I didn't hesitate for a second – as soon as I got back to Bulgaria, I signed up again for my next summer in America and couldn't wait for it to come sooner!
