March 1st Around the World and at Home

The Baba Marta holiday, loved by young and old alike, is here! Today we'll be delighted to receive martenitsi from family, friends, colleagues and everyone who wishes to see us healthy and smiling. Let's take a look around the world and see what's happening there!

Since we've started with good wishes, let us tell you that today is also World Compliment Day.

So after you tie the martenitsa on your friend's wrist, you can also say something nice to make them happy. No cheating – gifts are not allowed here, it all has to be in words. And don't limit your list to your loved ones. The salesperson, the driver, the waitress and everyone else working in the service sector also need a sincere smile and a kind "Thank you!".

We continue with the thank-you cards on this day, as we also mark Employee Appreciation Day. Today is the day you can freely remind your employer how well you do your job. And if you're on the other side, don't forget that you wouldn't have made it this far without your employees.

And if one day isn't enough to show everyone your love, don't worry – you have a whole week! The first week of March is dedicated to thank-you letters. It's an opportunity for those who aren't so good with words when speaking but are a different story when writing. After all, this holiday was created precisely because of the thought and time it takes to write a letter.

Let's not forget, however, who deserves our greatest thanks. We have dedicated a whole month to the women who have fought and are still fighting for equal rights. You can mark it in many ways – a flower or a greeting card for the woman you love, a whole social media post about your female hero, or simply reading a bit more about the people responsible for the achievements and progress in breaking down the barriers women face.

Besides all these important events, on March 1st we also celebrate Compote Day! Hardly anyone would refuse to celebrate this one. Go to your grandma's and catch up with her while enjoying the compotes she has made, dig through the crate of preserves looking for the jar of fruit juice, or simply make a jar yourself. There are many ways to honor the holiday, and all of them are literally sweet. We also have a suggestion for those with a sweet tooth. All through March you can celebrate Peanut Month. The nut that is found in all kinds of dishes, that a large part of the world's population is allergic to, and that is held in high esteem in America, is celebrated at this time of year. The occasion is also linked to the fact that, in addition to the peanut, March is dedicated to healthy eating. If you love snacking on any of these foods, March is your month!

Do you find all this boring and are looking for a challenge? Let us tell you about one. In the 21st century, it is almost impossible to spend 24 hours away from social media. It offers us an instant connection with people on the other side of the world. Through it we are also transported to places that are still only on our wish list or don't even exist. Despite the many opportunities digital technology offers us, we must not forget the world that exists here and now. That's why the organization Reboot created the National Day of Unplugging, which is observed today. We at NGB Consulting know that a whole day is a lot, but we challenge you to spend 2 hours without your digital gadgets. The results could be catching up with friends who are always on their phones, discovering new places around you and even a lower electricity bill! We assure you it's worth it!

What better way to start the month than with a solo trip? That's right, March 1st is the day the world challenges you to embark on a journey of self-discovery. There's nothing wrong with visiting new places on a pre-arranged plan with friends and family, but this kind of vacation always involves compromises and you often have to accommodate others. You can easily avoid this by planning a solo trip. That way, not only will you visit all the places you wanted, but you'll also have some time alone with yourself, and in today's fast-paced life we often forget that we need days like that too. That's why NGB Consulting offers you various destinations and ways to get to know both yourself and the world!

Whatever way you decide to mark today, NGB Consulting wishes you a warm weekend and a month full of sunny days!
