30 things you should try before you turn 30
Part I
Turning 30 is a turning point in everyone's life.
For many of you, it will mean you're no longer the party animals who keep going for weeks. You realize that not everything in life can be decided with the flip of a coin, and the consequences of bad decisions can't be cured with tequila alone.
Here are the most popular answers to "Things you should try before you turn 30":
- Take part in and finish a marathon – get moving a bit and get yourself in shape. Do it now, because after you turn 30 your metabolism slows down and it gets considerably harder. If you think losing a few pounds is hard now, just wait and see.
- Travel somewhere truly exotic - any place where you feel like you're at the end of the world can be called exotic. Don't be part of the tourist crowd – try a whole new way of traveling. It doesn't matter whether you go to a sparsely inhabited tropical island, hiking in the Scandinavian steppes or cycling in the Bolivian mountains at an altitude of over 4000 m. You're no longer tourists, but travelers.
- Buy a ticket to a music festival – check when and where your favorite band is playing, and if it's at a festival, we advise you to go. There's no more enjoyable atmosphere and feeling than listening to the music you love and sharing the same emotion with at least 10-15,000 other people.
- Go on a summer work program – what do you do during your summer vacations while you're at university? How about spending one in America? Not going as tourists on a sightseeing tour, but getting to the heart of American culture, mentality and customs. It will also give you the chance to have an amazing time. Not everyone can boast that this summer they lay on the beach soaking up the sun in sunny Florida, partied in L.A. or had dinner with friends in Manhattan.
- Treat yourself to some real luxury at least once in your life – here's an example right away. While you're on a summer work program and visiting New York, open Google and find out which is the best restaurant in the city. Dress up and go. Taste top-level food and service and see what the rich eat.
- Host a dinner for your friends – they are an important part of everyone's life and development. Like family, friends can play a big role in shaping and building your tastes and views, and they also witness your best and worst moments of your youth. "Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are." Appreciate the people who are with you by choice, not bound by blood ties. Host a dinner for them to remind them that they're an important part of your life.
- Drive your dream car – few people can afford to own a Porsche, a Mercedes S-Class or a Range Rover at the age of 26-27. But you don't have to own the car to try it out. Go to a showroom and ask for a test drive. The feeling is indescribable.
- Grab the mic and sing something at a karaoke bar – it's a good way to overcome your stage fright while you're young. It gets harder and harder with age. Don't worry if you can't sing – I guarantee that 90% of the people around you can't either, and it makes a great story you'll be telling for years.
- Go bungee jumping or skydiving – basically anything involving heights and adrenaline will do. Do it once to prove to yourself that you can handle it. And you might even like it – you'll never know until you try.
- Celebrate your birthdays – throw a big party, invite all your friends and celebrate another year you've spent on this earth. You never know when you'll have the free time to celebrate with your friends on a weekday.
