These suggestions are entirely open to your own interpretation. Get out there and enjoy the nice weather.
- Have a picnic in the park, the woods, on the beach or in the backyard.
- Put your phone aside for a day or two and socialize the old-fashioned way.
- Go fishing, to the beach or on a boat trip. Artificial or natural body of water – there's plenty of choice, and in the summer it's especially nice to enjoy the sun from a place like that and get some vitamin D.
- Do something new that you've never done before – bungee jumping, diving, climbing – experiment. Now is the time.
- Plant a garden or simply plant a flower, a fruit, a vegetable, a small tree. It's entirely up to you. The satisfaction of having contributed to cleaner air will come sooner or later, and the flowers will bring color and beauty to the gray everyday routine.
- Get in shape, exercise. We're not talking about diets, just getting your body moving. You'll see results very soon, believe us.
- Go to a parade or a fair. Every town organizes events like these; they're fun and you can meet new people.
- Get on a bus, a train or even a plane and go somewhere you've never been for a day. Don't overthink it!
- Learn a new language, even just a few phrases that would be useful in conversation. If you're on a summer work program, there are people from half the globe where you are, and you could learn not just one, but several languages. I'm sure no one will refuse to share a few sentences in their native language – that's the easiest way to make friends.
- Go watch fireworks – whether you're on a summer work program in the USA or have stayed in Bulgaria, it doesn't matter. Get some yourself if there's no event with fireworks near you, and enjoy the colors in the night sky.
- Go to an open-air concert. Summer is the peak of music festival season – be part of the crowd and immerse yourself in the sounds of your favorite music performed live.
- Make yourself a fruit drink – a juice or a smoothie. Seasonal summer fruits offer countless possibilities, and it's nice to cool off in the summer heat.
- Become a volunteer in your local community, the local church or a youth organization. Lots of events are organized in the summer – you'll meet new people and feel useful to society.
- Go to a garage sale/flea market. It's always interesting to see what treasures other people have. You might even find something to your taste as a souvenir of summer 2018.
- Take notes – not because you forget things, but so that you have a record of the little moments that may fade from memory over time. You could start a journal or a personal blog; whichever you choose, it will be something new and you won't regret it.
