A language course with intensive university application preparation for students aged 16 to 18. Participants learn about their options for applying to British universities and receive advice on how to choose the most suitable degree program for them and where it would be best to study it.
The program includes various forms of learning: general lectures and practical sessions, group projects and discussions, as well as individual lessons. Participants' starting level of English must be no lower than upper intermediate (B2). The course is divided into several modules and areas of study. One of them covers the process, procedure and requirements for applying to a British university. Every applicant needs to be familiar with this information in order to be properly prepared when applying. An important part of this module is preparing students for the admissions interview, in which they will need to explain why they are applying to the particular university. The second module includes lectures and seminars on the country's culture and way of life. Students will get a close look at student life in the UK – life in the residence halls, at the university, how exams are held and so on. English literature and history, the political system and more are also studied. The remaining modules include lectures and practical sessions on applicants' career development, logical thinking, writing different types of texts and documents, and more.
During the 2-week program, participants will visit universities in London, Oxford and Cambridge to get to know the environment there and see what a typical day looks like. An additional trip around London and a visit to the famous Globe Theatre are also organized.
