Anglophiles Academic is a language center that offers summer camps and language courses abroad. It has been on the market for almost 40 years, organizing English language courses in the UK, France, Ireland, the USA, Canada, China and other countries. Its mission is to provide high-quality teaching and valuable experience for young people – to introduce them to new challenges and enrich their lives with emotion and enjoyment.
The British Village, Language & Fun + Options is a language program that offers French lessons and a mix of different sports, excursions and cultural events. It takes place in Chatillon-sur-Indre in the Touraine region, near Brenne National Park. The program offers 4 options:
- French & Multi-Activities – excursions to explore the area, including to Futuroscope – an amazing amusement park that uses giant film screens and interactive shows. A visit to Chateau de Loche – a magnificent 9th-century castle set high above the river Indre. Two three-hour horse riding sessions.
- Cooking Academy – 5 half-day cooking classes, 3 hours each. Students learn how to prepare typical French food (sweet and savory). Each student receives a cookbook with recipes at the end of the stay. In the afternoons there are various activities, and each week there is one full-day excursion.
- Horse Riding Academy – 5 half-day lessons of 3 hours each. Depending on their level, students learn to ride, improve their technique and help care for the horses.
- French & Go-Karting – 5 half-day lessons of 2 hours each. Students learn to drive under the supervision of a qualified instructor. They study track driving techniques and engine mechanics. Karting equipment is provided by the center. The two-day horse riding lessons are not included in this program.
The language course includes 21 hours of French. Students' level is assessed on arrival, after which they are placed in groups of 12-16 people. The teacher adapts the materials and teaching techniques to the individual needs of each group. Special emphasis is placed on speaking and listening. The center's goal is to make everyday communication in English effective.
Students live at the language center itself, 6-8 children per room, with meals provided.
