Summer Program at Sevenoaks School

Sevenoaks boarding school was founded in 1432 and enjoys a worldwide reputation as a center of academic excellence. It offers stimulating, intellectual, demanding and balanced education for students aged 11 to 18. Inspiring facilities combined with expert teachers provide students with rich opportunities – a wide variety of sports, performing and visual arts. The principles of tolerance and openness are encouraged. Every year the school admits students from more than 40 countries. It is one of the most successful boarding schools in the world.

The school is in an excellent location in the town of Sevenoaks, Kent, in a most delightful spot – at the top of the High Street. The grounds cover 40 hectares and include buildings and beautiful landscaped areas. Sevenoaks is only 30 minutes from central London and Gatwick Airport and an hour's drive from Heathrow Airport. Program fees include airport transfers between Heathrow Airport, Gatwick, St Pancras International station and the school.

Summer program

The program is an academic enrichment course for talented, ambitious students aged 13-17 with a high level of English. The course includes four modules: critical thinking, social leadership, creativity and digital skills. Each module lasts 10 hours. Groups are divided by age, and parents receive a detailed report from the teachers on their children's progress at the end of the stay.

Critical thinking

It has never been more important for students to have critical thinking skills – to be able to distinguish good arguments from bad ones, to filter information and to balance different points of view with their own views. This module is designed to introduce students to a wide range of political and cultural issues, culminating in a lively debate.

Social leadership

This module enables students to appreciate the role of social leaders in creating social change. On the first day of the course, students deepen their understanding of the world around them through a close examination of social issues. Different paths to effective social change are presented, assessing and refining students' entrepreneurial skills. On the second day, students have the opportunity to work on a practical challenge in which they apply their leadership skills and thinking to influence a current social issue by creating innovative solutions.

Creativity

This module encourages students to think about what "creativity" means and explores its various forms – creative writing, drama, theater technology and film.

Digital skills

This module covers coding, design and robotics, while giving students the skills they need to develop as independent learners in a constantly changing world.

Leisure activities

The school takes pride not only in being a center of academic excellence but also in its rich and diverse educational atmosphere. Sevenoaks aims for its students to become well-rounded individuals. There is a wide range of interesting, rewarding and challenging activities held in the afternoons and evenings during the summer program. All activities are planned and delivered by trained staff and coaches. Students choose one activity per week and take part in a total of 12 hours of activities during the two-week stay.
