The camp is located in the Umbrian hills, near the town of Bettona. It is surrounded by nearly 600 hectares of nature. The capital, Rome, is a 1 hour 30 minute drive from the camp. The organizers are proud members of the American Camp Association, whose best practices and vision are embodied in the programs. They are ISO 9001-2008 quality certified, which attests to the value and high standards applied by the organization. The school specializes in teaching English and is a recognized Cambridge ESOL exam preparation center.
Young people learn to work as a team and to navigate in nature during the hikes they take. They will have the opportunity to go rock climbing, rafting, mountain biking and enjoy many other outdoor activities. Last but not least, they will have the opportunity to improve their communication skills and become more self-confident through the "learning by doing" method.
The camp includes:
- 12 hours of language tuition/week;
- an initial placement test on arrival at the camp to determine English proficiency;
- outdoor activities that are different every day – horse riding, rafting, nature hikes, orienteering, climbing and more.
- an excursion to Rome or Florence (for stays of 2 weeks or more);
- a final language level test;
- Full-board accommodation using organic, local produce;
- social activities – stargazing, karaoke, movie night, disco night, evening entertainment, Friday night barbecue.
The camp is run entirely in English, which is the native language of all teachers and instructors. Participants are recommended to have at least an A2/B1 level of English. Due to the nature of the camp, everyone must be able to understand the safety instructions.
Accommodation:
Accommodation is in a recently renovated hunting lodge with 17 rooms with private bathrooms, a large dining room and a living room with a pool table.
Each room can accommodate 2 to 5 children.
The camp grounds include a large swimming pool, a beach volleyball court, a soccer field and plenty of grassy areas where children can spend their free time.
