Medical Spanish
The Medical Spanish course focuses on vocabulary related to the body's systems and on developing the skills needed to conduct a medical examination and fully understand the patient without an interpreter or assistant.
Duration and schedule:
20 or 30 lessons per week – from 9:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (20 lessons) and 1:30 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. (30 lessons);
6-10 students per class;
Minimum age 17;
Required starting level of Spanish: A2 or higher.
Methodology:
So-called "patient interviewing" is the main focus of every medical professional in a Spanish-speaking environment, as it is the primary way they gather information. Foreign doctors use interpreters for these interviews, but this inevitably creates a gap between patient and doctor and can strongly affect making the correct diagnosis. Our partners "ClicInternational" created this course to support foreign medical specialists.
Lecture topics and focus:
- the patient's family and social situation;
- the Spanish healthcare system;
- the patient's medical history;
- anatomy;
- pain: vocabulary and questions about different sources of pain;
- infections and inflammations;
- toxicology – symptoms, questions, vocabulary;
- the body's systems – vocabulary for symptoms, diagnoses and examination of internal organs.

Additional information – high season: April 3 to May 29 and September 25 to October 30. One-time fees – €40 booking fee, €40 cleaning fee at the end of the rental and a €150 refundable deposit.
