Leicester University is one of the leading British universities, located in the East Midlands, 100 miles north of London. The university has well-equipped facilities, including pitches for soccer, rugby, cricket, tennis, basketball and volleyball, a running track, a gym and a dance studio, and there is a swimming pool nearby.
Leicester University English & Creation of Video Games is a summer language program (July and August) that, alongside practicing English, includes 20 hours of computer game creation and offers the chance to develop skills such as scripting, graphic design, game production and more. Teamwork is also organized, which has students analyze the techniques used in successful games while having fun.
The language program includes 27 hours of English. Students' language level is assessed on arrival, after which they are placed in groups of 12-16 people. The teacher adapts materials and teaching techniques to the individual needs of each group. Special emphasis is placed on speaking and listening. The center's goal is to make everyday communication in English effective.
Alongside language tuition and video game creation, students go on full-day excursions every week to get to know the area. The center also offers a wide variety of sports – soccer, rugby, tennis, basketball, volleyball, athletics and swimming. A sports hall and a dance studio are available.
